Bogged Down

If I spent as much time sewing as I do looking at quilting blogs
or watching Midsomer Murders on NetFlix,
I'd have a finished product to show you this week.

I'm having a hard time keeping focused to finish off
this wedding ring quilt.

All I can say is that it's a good thing that neither of my kids
are even close to getting married.
Maybe that's the problem - maybe I need a deadline
to get this one done!

I still only have one completed row done but well on my way to getting a second.
Could get that much done this weekend if I chip away at it.

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and my daughter
bought me this beautiful bouquet of flowers.

I absolutely LOVE the colours.
Wouldn't they look great in a quilt?
Some of my favourite flowers are represented here.

Lately we have had the most spectacular sunsets.
Here's a couple from two different nights.

One can't hold a candle to the beauty that God has created for us to enjoy.

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend!!

Victoria Trip

I've been busy!
Vacationing, not quilting this past week.
Warning - lots of pictures but only a few about quilting.

I did have a chance to hit the quilt shop (Satin Moon Quilt Shop) in Victoria.
Look what I found on sale!

Also this cute scissor holder.
It actually will hold up to 3 pairs of scissors.

Super cute!!

The reason I went to Victoria was to see my son, Graham, who currently lives in there.

As I was traveling there, I was flipping through the Up magazine
and stumbled upon this article.

Was I ever surprised when I saw that one of the hip things
to do in Victoria is to visit Heist Coffee Co. - my son's cafe!!

Good coffee served with love!

Victoria never disappoints when it comes to flowers.

Somehow your spirit is lifted when you see these beauties.

Such beautiful creations and colours that the good Lord has created for us.

Lastly, I saw the ocean!!

And yes, I was there!!

Have a good week, everyone.

Do-Si-Do

If you are not familiar with the term 'do-si-do', it has to do with a move in Square Dancing.
Takes me back to grade 7 gym class!!  Ugh!

I've named this quilt Square Dance.
It has a much better feel than grade 7 square dancing.

Oh my, I just looked back and I started this quilt back in August of 2013.
I guess all good things take time.

Look at all 388 blocks dancing in the sun.
In reality it is only a disappearing 9 patch.

So nice to be able to photograph outside.

The quilt measures 51 x 62 not quilted.

Such juicy, bright, vibrant colours.

The trees are all out in full bloom right now and
this is the view from my computer window today.

I have an upcoming trip to Victoria to see my son and am getting excited.

We saw each other last summer for my niece's wedding.
Way too long!!

I love the Victoria Harbour.
One could sit there all day and watch the comings and goings.

Enjoy your evening!!
